Mommy, why did you let Daddy go to heaven? Why didn’t you hold on to him?
I couldn’t. God’s love is a lot bigger then mommy’s. His love was so bright and so welcoming and so loving that Daddy went. That is how amazing God’s love is.
” Dear God. Thank you for loving our daddy. Thank you for taking care of him. Please send the green balloons to him. And tell him we love him” – Parker’s prayer 10.26.14
Sometimes I think in Heaven they see a slide show of our lives. It’s like little glimpses. Little snapshots. One day to them is like a life time of memories for us. We are crazy to not see that Heaven is a lot closer than it is farther. That God is more divine then we will ever learn or understand.
David would be proud. He would be proud of the joy in Audrey and Parker’s lives. He would be thankful for the community that has loved and lifted us up. He would also know it was our trust in God and our surrender to our faith that put the peace in our hearts and the will to move forward.
One year. We did it! We made it. As we celebrated David’s birthday in Heaven with balloons and cake……I thought about the past year. What did he see? How he would be smiling! There was no better way to show our gratitude for your love then to give you a glimpse of what I believe David saw in heaven this last year. I hope you see the genuine joy in Audrey and Parker’s hearts when you look at their first christmas, their first vacation, their first birthday, their first day of schools etc….with out their daddy. God put you in their lives to encourage them, to carry them through and to pray for them. And I thank you!
We now move forward living out our faith and remembering David’s legacy he left…..
” go…go and live. Life is a gift, it is fragile and it is short………go and live! And do it with an abundance of hope, faith and love! Because I will be OK. I will never stop watching over you and encouraging you from above.” David Hurst
My hope is you will never stop taking pictures. That you will capture every moment. That you will be in the picture and that you will always look back and remember where your strength came from.
