Finally,we did it……….deep breath. Another year. Another anniversary. Another day where we released balloons sending life, well wishes but more importantly love….to the sky…..to the unknown. A place were we hold faith there is something better waiting our arrival. A place where our loved ones are free. A place where they are loved. They are close. They are in a realm we cannot and will never understand until we are there one day.
So instead of trying to understand, we have faith. We have love. We support one another. We will all grieve one day. Grief isn’t a disease. It doesn’t discriminate. It’s life and it comes in many different forms. Whether it be a death, a divorce, the loss of a job, the passing of a pet, a broken friendship, selling your first home where you brought your babies home to, grief will enter your life at some point. For Audrey and Parker, their journey just happened to start a little earlier then most.
Being in a new town, a new city, a new school with new friends……this heaven anniversary was a little different. They got the chance to not celebrate with those that knew their daddy, but instead introduce their daddy. The guest of honor, to their new friends. They shared pictures full of memories, words from their own mouths, bringing their daddy to life to their special friends who still don’t quite understand but knew Audrey and Parker were loved by someone pretty special.
At the end of the night I sat alone in bed thinking how far we’ve come and the many steps of faith we have taken in the last two years. The ups and downs that sometimes seemed too surreal. The amazement of being in a new city for only a few months, and the out pouring of love and support for our family from so many new families.
Our story. It’s not the worse. It’s not one that anyone is sheltered from, but it’s our story. It’s made up of more than three characters, it’s made up of a community, one with one author many feel is anonymous……however, when I watch this video, I am reminded just how alive he is.
I hope you watch this video and feel apart of this special day!
